What happens with FlightCheck?

32-bit application will be discontinued | Announcement of a 64-bit version

From 32-bit to 64-bit

FlightCheck is a patented software for preflighting and postflighting of publishing documents. The manufacturer Markzware announces that the current 32-bit version will not be further developed. However, a 64-bit version is in preparation. Because the current version does not work with the last MacOS, the development of the 32-bit version is stopped and the focus is exclusively on the development of the 64-bit version.

If you want to keep using your current version of FlightCheck, you’ll need a Mac computer with macOS 10.6.8-10.14. Markzware announces that there will be no further updates or upgrades for the current 32-bit version. FlightCheck in the current edition is now only sold as an unlimited full license and no longer as a subscription. Anyone who still buys the software today should no longer expect any updates. However, this disadvantage can also become an advantage.

What about current licenses?

Those who currently use FlightCheck are obviously working with an older Mac operating system. If possible, you should keep this older operating system for a while longer. For those who have an active subscription as of March 2, 2020, Markzware has renewed your subscription for an additional 12 months for free. You do not have to do anything.

It will be advantageous when the new version is released. As a FlightCheck user, you can use your current FlightCheck license ID to receive an exclusive discount on the new 64-bit version as soon as it is released. The manufacturer has not yet announced a release date.

The current price has been more than halved.

FlightCheck now supports QuarkXPress 2018

FlightCheck now supports QuarkXPress 2018

FlightCheck checks publishing documents for possible errors and thus ensures production.

Markzware just released an update for FlightCheck. The preflighting tool now also works with QuarkXPress 2018 documents and can check them as well as collect them for forwarding or archiving.

FlightCheck checks publishing documents for (possible) errors, creates reports and shows the pages and objects where errors occur. FlightCheck is an indispensable tool for checking incoming documents as well as for checking before output (transfer, exposure, PDF output). FlightCheck does not need original programs for checking, but analyzes documents directly.
